# Configuration - Server
Use this section for server-level monitoring and security operations. It is the main place for checking server health, network configuration, firewall policy, and outgoing-mail setup.
# Availability Notes
- During a PanelAlpha Engine upgrade, some tabs can be temporarily unavailable.
- If the server version is outdated, update the engine before applying advanced configuration changes.
# Available Tabs
Server management is split into:
- Details
- IP Management
- Firewall (CSF)
- WAF/ModSecurity
- Outgoing Mail
- Notifications
# Details
Use this tab first when troubleshooting.
What to check:
- server identity (hostname/IP)
- number of instances and hosting accounts
- engine/webserver status
- RAM/CPU/disk usage
- performance graphs
Typical use cases:
- Verify server health before configuration changes.
- Confirm resource pressure during incidents.
- Review engine update state.
# IP Management
Use this tab for network-level planning and validation.
What to review:
- default IPv4 and IPv6
- IP subnets
- assignment and sharing information
Use it before migrations, domain routing changes, or dedicated-IP assignments.
# Firewall (CSF)
Use this tab to manage traffic allow/deny behavior.
Main controls:
- firewall status
- allow/deny rules
- CSF web interface
Operational guidance:
- Add allow rules before blocking ranges used by admins or integrations.
- Validate access after each rule update.
- Keep rollback notes for emergency recovery.
# WAF/ModSecurity
Use this tab for request filtering and attack mitigation.
Main controls:
- ModSecurity mode
- rule set enable/disable
- audit log file access
Use audit logs to tune false positives before enforcing stricter blocking.
# Outgoing Mail
Use this tab to configure platform-generated email delivery.
Main tasks:
- configure smarthost/provider routing
- define sender domain and related settings
- run delivery tests
Apply these settings before enabling notifications in production.
# Notifications
Use this tab to define server-specific alert behavior (available options depend on installed modules).
Recommended routine:
- Enable only alerts your team actively monitors.
- Route critical alerts to channels with on-call ownership.
- Review noise and thresholds monthly.
